GOOD MACS AND GALAS

There are good Macs and Galas for tomorrow Sunday Sept 11 and they will be good thru the rest of the week except Monday when we are closed.

There will be more of Mrs. Murphy’s donuts on Sunday, and cider all week.

Honeycrisp will start on Saturday Sept 17.

Come see us.

MACS AND GALAS START FRIDAY SEPT 9

We had a big turn out for early apple weekend – Zestars,  Sansas and Ginger Golds were picked out.

We will start our regular season Friday Sept 9 with McIntosh and Gala – Macs are limited.  There will be cider starting Friday and Mrs. Murphy’s donuts on Saturday and Sunday.

This season, we will try to hold our regular six days open (closed Monday’s) schedule if the supply of fruit from the short crop holds up.  We may have to go to weekends only.  Be sure to check the web or Facebook before you come to see that we are open on that day.

EARLY APPLE SUNDAY – SEPT 4 – 9:00AM – 2:00PM

Hours tomorrow (Sunday Sept 4) will be 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  We saw a lot of good folks today and they picked a lot of good fruit.  There are limited amounts of Zestar and Sansa – more Ginger Gold.

We will close at 2:00 PM because by that time the Zestars and Sansas will be picked out – I expect that there will be some Ginger Golds available when we reopen on Friday Sept 9.

We will start our regular season on Friday Sept 9 with Macintosh and Gala.  Because of the hard freeze in April, Macs will be relatively few – better supply of Gala.

We will have cider and donuts on Saturday and Sunday – weather forecast is for sunny and mid 70’s for the weekend – looking forward to seeing you.

EARLY APPLE WEEKEND TOMORROW – SAT SEPT 3 & SUNDAY SEPT 4

Zestar, Sansa and Ginger Gold are all ready to pick.  Barn is cleaned up and we are ready to welcome folks.  Maple syrup, cookbooks, note cards, & Mad Tom hats are all in place.  We plan to start cider & donuts next weekend.

We especially like the Zestars for eating and for pies – we use them for most of our pies.  I peel the apples and Sylvia makes the pie crust for a dozen pies – then we freeze them and bake them later over the winter.

Temperature is supposed to drop to 49 degrees tonight and sunny in the low 70’s tomorrow and Sunday.

Come help us start the season!!

EARLY APPLE WEEKEND – SATURDAY SEPT 3 & SUNDAY SEPT 4

As I said in my last post, the overall crop this year will be much less than last year and very uneven tree to tree BUT, there will be a lot of fruit for some varieties.

Early apple weekend will be Saturday Sept 3 and Sunday Sept 4  for Zestar, Sansa and Ginger Gold.  There are good amounts of Zestar and Sansa – moderate amount of Ginger Gold.  Zestar  is an excellent eating apple and also makes VERY good pies – we make our pies for the winter using Zestar.

We expect to open for our regular season for McIntosh and Gala (as well as remaining Zestar, Sansa and Ginger Gold) on Friday Sept 9 – then follow our normal schedule open daily except Monday – 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Honeycrisp looks pretty good and will probably start Sept 17’th.  I will post more details later.

Come help us get started for the 2016 apple harvest!!
